About

Project 54 started because someone saw a need on Skid Row in Los Angeles. One day while walking in Skid Row, a man walked up with a Bible to this person and said, "God is calling you to be a leader. We need you to be a leader here." A few days later a woman that he saw told him, "I still think there is hope for me." Another gentleman told him not to waste his time on him. This person worried about this man for two weeks, fearful that he was dead from drug overdose.

Partnering with other businesses and shelters based in Skid Row, the message of "Every hand will have a Bible, every heart will hear His word" is resonating across Skid Row. It is not about bringing God to Skid Row. God has never left. Each person there knows God. It is about finding out where they feel their relationship with God is and fostering reconciliation and healing in God's love. Through investment of time and love we believe we can show there is still hope.

Project 54 is currently hosting monthly events for the residents on Skid Row. At these events, more than 500 Bibles and Christian Books have been distributed focusing on addiction, faith during the dark, sexual abuse, domestic violence, and the Power of Christ. Each with a loving message of hope from our volunteers. Toiletry items are also available for them to take. Recently, weekly Bible studies have been added to the schedule held in our office location.

The prayer given and the lessons taught benefit everyone involved. We have learned to be more grateful with the blessings God has given us. Not in materialistic things, but in love, family and faith.

We Believe God Moves By Living In Community With Each Other

Our Mission

Project 54 Outreach exists to build caring relationships with the homeless people of Skid Row. Our goal begins with the provision of Bibles and communication of God's word to bring healing to hurting souls. We willingly reach out to the local missions and shelters to form partnerships that will help the people of Skid Row know and feel God's love.

In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in Heaven.
